SAP Finance Transfer of Responsibility for Budget

Use

You use this function to save a position as a person responsible for budget for a budget structure element (BS element) and its budget or a part of the budget structure. This allows you to map responsibilities for budget execution.

Features

You transfer responsibility for budget in processing of position plans in the view Position Plan with Responsible Position. You select the BS element here and then assign it to the position you want using the function Assign. You can also search for the organizational unit or position in the search area and then assign it to BS element by dragging and dropping.

When a person takes up a position, the responsibility for budget is transferred to this person.

You can use the information on persons responsible for budget for assigning authorizations.

When budget is carried forward, the person responsible for budget is informed by e-mail about any errors that occurred. You can find more information under Carryforward Log.

Activities

To assign a responsible person to a position, choose the following from the SAP Easy Access screen Personnel ® Personnel Management ® Position Budgeting and Control ® Personnel Budget Plan Management ® Position Plan ® Change then switch to the view Position Plan with Responsible Position.

Example

You transfer the budget responsibility for the budget area General Administration to the position Budget Representative in the department Internal Administration. The position is held by the clerk Henry Smith. Since responsibility for the budget has been assigned to this position, Henry Smith is displayed as being responsible for the budget.
