SAP Finance Earmarking

Use

You use earmarking to assign budget of budget structure elements (BS elements) to an organizational unit or position. This means that you can only use the earmarked budget to finance the organizational unit or position, depending on your system setting.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

Prerequisites

The system response in the case of a infringement of earmarking must be set in Customizing of Position Budgeting and Control in the IMG activity Define System Response for Financing.

An organizational structure must be set up.

Features

You create earmarkings (or assignments of budget of a BS element to a organizational unit or position) in Position Plan Processing in the view Position Plan with Earmarking. You select the budget structure element here and then assign it to the organizational unit or position you want using the function Assign. You can also search for the organizational unit or position in the search area and then assign it to budget structure element by dragging and dropping.

If you use earmarking, the budget structure elements for allocation can be selected using earmarking during the financing of persons or positions.

The system indicates any infringements on earmarkings if budget from a BS element earmarked for another organizational unit or positions is used for financing.

Activities

To create earmarkings, choose the following from the SAP Easy Access screen Human Resources ® Personnel Management ® Budget Management ® Position Budgeting and Control ® Personnel Budget Plan Management ® Position Plan ® Change then switch to the view Position Plan with Earmarking.
