SAP Finance Run for Preparing Budget Planning

Use

You can use this function to create the data you want to use as a basis for planning the personnel budget. You use this function to limit the objects for which you want to create personnel budget plan data.

Integration

Caution

If you want to create plan data for personnel budget for a larger number of objects, you should use the program Edit Plan Data and create the data in the background.

Prerequisites

You are using the Budget Control System (BCS) of Funds Management and automatic commitment creation of Position Budgeting and Control.

You can find the following settings in Position Budgeting and Control:

· The run variant BPREP is entered (by default) in the IMG activity Define Run Variants for Runs for Preparation of Budget Planning.

· The period for which the system should create planned expenses for persons and positions (planned personnel budget) from the data of Personnel Cost Planning is entered in the IMG activity Define Period for Runs for Preparation of Budget Planning.

· The number of documents the program should create per period is defined in the IMG activity Define Periods of Commitment Period. One document is created per period.

· A subtype for the personnel budget plan data you created is defined in the IMG activity Define Subtypes for Budget Creation. This subtype is used to determine the budget version under which the data created in Funds Management is saved.

Features

The data for the personnel budget requirement for persons is determined by payroll simulation; the data for positions by Personnel Cost Planning. The program writes the data created in a table which is evaluated by the extractor of the DataSource 0PSM_PBC_05.

Note

Note on background processing: The difference between the two background options is the scope of the locked objects. In individual processing in the background, the program starts a background job for each object so that only this object and dependent objects are locked. The makes commitment creation easier when the system is operational. When processing in the background, the program creates a background job for all selected objects.

The program creates a log for each run which can be called using the menu of Position Budgeting and Control.
