Use
This process describes the structure of a position plan. The position plan is a hierarchical arrangement of budget structure elements. It forms the basis for the use of the position plan.
Prerequisites
The following IMG activities must be carried out in the Customizing of Position Budgeting and Control:
...
1. Define Financial Year (only for position plans with financial years)
2. Define Budget Currency
3. Maintain Budget Element Types
4. Maintain Hierarchy of Budget Element Types
Process Flow
...
...
1. You define the structure of the position plan. The structure is a hierarchical arrangement of budget structure elements (BS elements). The individual BS elements of the position plan are defined by the BS elements type (individual plan, chapter or title) and the budget unit (monetary unit or full-time equivalents). The BS elements are defined in the IMG activity Maintain Budget Structure Element Types. The hierarchical relationship between the different BS element types is defined in the IMG activity Maintain Budget Structure Element Types.
2. You create a new position plan by defining a root budget element in the processing of position plans. This root budget element contains super-ordinate information, for example, whether it is a position plan with or without a financial year. You can find more information under Financial Year.
3. Create additional BS elements under the root budget element in order to map the hierarchy structure of the position plan.
When creating BS elements note that BS elements with monetary budget in BS elements can be broken down into BS elements with full-time equivalents. However, it is not possible to assign a BS element with monetary budget to a BS element with a full-time equivalent budget.
4. Run a system check to ensure the position plan is consistent.
Result
You have created the position plan. To manage the budget and make full use of the features of personnel budget plan management, you have to define additional data for the individual BS elements. You can find more information under Personnel Budget Plan Management.
