Use
By defining a reclassification rule for a budget structure element, you define a reminder to change the pay scale classification for its budget. Using this rule, you can carry over full-time equivalents from the budget of a budget structure element to a new budget structure element whose budget has a different pay scale assignment.
Prerequisites
Reclassification rules can only be defined for budget structure elements whose budget is managed in full-time equivalents.
The following IMG activities must have been processed in Customizing of Position Budgeting and Control:
· Define Reclassification Rules
· Maintain Assignment of Reclassification Rules for Budget Structure Element Types
To enable a value-based reclassification, you must define average records for the pay scale evaluation in Customizing of Position Budgeting and Control.
For quantity-based reclassification, you must define recalculation factors for the relevant evaluations in Customizing of Position Budgeting and Control or, the reclassification of full-time equivalents must be activated. Alternatively, the basic reclassification can be activated in Customizing. A distinction between value/quantity-based postings is then no longer necessary.
If you are working with financial yearposition plans, you can only propose reclassification rules if the budget has budget execution status estimated, released, provisionally released or under revision.
Features
Reclassification rules are always controlled by an event. An event-controlled reclassification rule must be activated. By delimiting a position that is financed by a budget structure element with an event-controlled reclassification rule, the system automatically leads the user to the activation. However, it is also possible to activate reclassification rules when processing a position plan.
When activating reclassification rules, a new budget structure element is created as budget with the reclassified full-time equivalents. This new budget structure element is inserted under the submitting budget structure element and can then be assigned to any position in the budget structure.
You can use to previous budget structure elements from the reclassification and their budget for financing persons and positions.
Activities
To define a budgeting rule for a budget structure element, choose the following from the SAP Easy Access screen: Human Resources ® Personnel Management ® Position Budgeting and Control ® Personnel Budget Plan Management ® Position Plan ® Change and then click on the tab page Reclassification Rule.
Example
You have a budget structure element whose budget covers 5 jobs in A12. Due to organizational changes, you require 2 positions in A10. By using a reclassification rule, you can reclassify the corresponding budget from A12 as A10.
