SAP Finance Non-Staffing of Positions

Use

If positions were not occupied in the past, the financing requirement for the position is lower than originally assumed. To receive correct commitment data, you have to remove the vacancy for the corresponding period.

Features

As long as a position has the status to be staffed, personnel commitments in the form of funds precommitments are created for it in a commitment run. When the vacancy is reset, no commitments are created during the next commitment run. The effects of the commitment run depend on the Customizing settings in Position Budgeting and Control:

When you do not record personnel cost savings, there is no more financing requirement for the position. Also the budget that had been reserved in the component Funds Management is released again.

When you record personnel cost savings without funds blocking, no financing requirements are created during the commitment run either. In addition, the program generates documents that show the commitment changes.

When you record personnel cost savings with funds blocking, no financing requirements are created during the commitment run either. The program also generates documents that show the commitment changes. At the same time the program creates funds blockings in Funds Management for the entire amount of the personnel cost savings to prevent the saved budget from being used again. The budget is only available again in Funds Management when you release the funds blocks.
