SAP Financing Determining Financing Requirement for Positions

Prerequisites

The position is already created in the system and shows the staffing status Vacancy to be Occupied. You can find information on creating positions under Structure linkEditing Staffing Assignments.

Enter Financing Requirements

...

1. Choose the following from the SAP Easy Accessscreen Human Resources ® Organizational Management ® Organizational Structure ® Organization and Staffing ® Change.

2. Select the position for which you want to enter the financing requirements.

3. Choose Goto ® Detail Object ® Enhanced Object Description.

4. On the screen Maintain Object, select the infotype Planned Compensation and choose Create.

Note

In this case, the Personnel Cost Planning evaluates the infotype Planned Compensation. You can also determine the financing requirements using other infotypes, for example, user-defined infotypes.

5. Enter the likely funds required.

6. Save your entries.

7. Return to the screen Maintain Object.

8. Return to the screen Change Organization and Staffing.

9. Select the tab page Cost Distribution and enter the account assignment, which is to cover the financing requirements of this position. It is possible to distribute to different account assignments in percentages. The system automatically determines the Funds Management (FM) account assignments (the budgets of which are debited) from the account assignments entered. You can find information on the derivation strategy used to derive values from FM account assignments from other account assignments in the implementation guide (IMG) of Funds Management under Assignments to Account Assignments from Other Components.

Create Commitment

1. Choose the Financing Status tab page. The financing overview does not show anything for the new position at this stage because no commitment runs have been started yet.

2. Select Information on Commitment Creation to check whether the position created is actually included in the commitment creation.

3. Select create commitmentto determine the likely financing requirement for the position.

The screen Message Log appears. The message log shows whether it was possible to post the funds commitment for each position. If an error occurs, you receive a detailed error message where you can see in which module the error occurred.

Display Financing Overview

...

...

1. Return to the screen Display Organization and Staffing.

2. Select Financing Overview to display the financing overview.

Result

You have created a position and determined the financing requirement expected for it. This financing requirement is connected to the derived FM account assignments in the component Funds Management in the form of a funds commitment.
